1. Vespa Rally 200

Everyone loves a Rally. Mainly due to the fact that a Rally pretty much kicks tail. Sweet sixties/seventies styling and one of the fastest, sportiest scooters you can get on a stock Vespa make this a perennial fave amongst riders and collectors alike. Great Mod scooter too. There are still many of them available, and are easy to make go fast, fast, fast.

2. Lambretta SX200

Like the Rally, this one is a supreme Mod scooter. The slimline models look fantastic, and, some feel, have superb handling compared to the Vespas. Why? It seems that the centered motor offers better weight distribution and more even handling in the turns. Very popular for the fabled T1 conversion.

3. Vespa P200

Almost everyone's first scooter. Easy to ride, fast, reliable, cheap to fix, easy to work on - the list goes on and on. The P200 is a great all-arounder, and almost everyone from the bone-stock collector to the racer-types can find something to like.

The euros are leading the race scene with some ridiculously fast P scooters (the Germans generally build the fastest street scooters) and the scooters are plentiful all over the world. Perhaps not famous as the best looking of Vespas, the P series more than makes up for it in well-known ride-ability.

4. Vespa PX150

Same deal as the P200, but not as fast. Gets its popularity from its availability in the States.

5. Vespa GS160

The GS is what most people think of when they think of scooters. Big, curvy, fast, and popular in film and media, this Mod icon was the goal of many UK/US Mods in the 70's and 80's.

6. Vespa 150 Sportique

Mad Mod scooter with full cons. A sixties fave, especially with the UK. Available with chrome panels and a "Bahama Gold" paint scheme.

7. Vespa SS180

Sweet collectible ride from the 60's, this scooter was a precursor to the Rally series. Very fast and sporty, this scooter also carries the unusual trapezoidal headlight that attracts many collectors.

8. Vespa Primavera

A favorite with the five footers, this scooter has a neat slim style and can be easily "Modded" to kick out the jams. Primaveras ride a lot like Lambrettas as the motor is more centered and they feel nice and compact beneath the rider.

9. L Series III Models

Like the SX200's, any of the slimline Lambrettas sell themselves on looks, and that balanced ride. Innocenti enthusiasts all cite the better quality and nicer design elements of the Lambrettas.

10. Handlebar Model Vespa

Very popular amongst the older guys because these Vespas invaded America in the 50's. The Vespa club of America was built on the backs of the handlebar scooters. Also hip with the younger set, the handlebar scooters offer more chrome than you can shake a stick at, and a generally curvier, wider style.

All of these scooters can be fun and rewarding restorations.
