>> frequently asked questions
1. Where do you get your parts?
Big People Scooters is an authorized Vintage Vespa Restoration Center. We obtain most of our parts directly from Piaggio in Italy. On rare occasions, when Piaggio no longer manufactures a part, we source the parts directly from the original manufacturer. Parts that are not original Piaggio are listed as such in our catalogue.
2. How long will it take for my part to arrive?
We ship via UPS ground daily. Orders shipped to the West coast usually arrive in three to four business days. Orders to the East coast can take five to seven business days.
3. The part I'm looking for is listed as special order. How long will it take to arrive?
Depending on the manufacturer of the special order part, it can take up to two months for your item to arrive at our shop in Seattle. In most cases, however, special orders are usually shipped in less than a month.
4. I found the same part on another website for a lower price. Why?
All of our original Piaggio parts are sold at the manufacturer's retail price. If another shop is selling the item for less, it is not an original Piaggio part. Original quality parts (OEM) are far superior in quality to the aftermarket products being produced by other manufacturers.
5. Do you service Vespa scooters?
Yes! We currently have four factory-trained and certified Vespa technicians. We are capable of servicing any Vespa from a 1947 rod model to a brand new Vespa ET4. However, we do not do paint or bodywork in house.
6. Do you service Lambretta scooters?
We carry a very complete line of spare parts for Lambretta models dating back to about 1958. We also do service work on models dating from after 1958 as well.
7. Why don't you have scooters for sale on your website?
We feel that it's very important for customers to personally inspect any scooter before purchasing it. Although we do sell used scooters, we don't feel comfortable selling them over the Internet.
8. Can I order a new Vespa from you?
Big People Scooters is the Vespa Assistance Point for the state of Washington. If you are a Washington resident, we can order a new Vespa ET2 or ET4 for you.
